I have 3 monkeys
that are the opposite. The "see" monkey has his eyes wide open, the
"speak" monkey has his mouth open and appears to be yelling, and
the "hear" monkey has his hands behind his ears to hear better. The
piece is about 7 inches tall and 7 inches long. There are no markings. I
don't know what they are made of, but I'll call it faux ivory. It's a hefty
weight. |

vleermuizenembryo’s. Hoewel er niets over bijstond in de begeleidende tekst,
zag ik er gelijk horen, zien en zwijgen in, of eigenlijk, zien, zwijgen en
horen, zoals je kan zien. |

aus tyros im libanon und müßte aus der phönitzischen oder römischen zeit
stammen,er wurde bei ausgrabungen für einen brunnen gefunden,er wiegt 1,2
kilo und ist 18 centimeter groß. Können Sie mir sagen wie alt der Affe

for the news letter, always good to hear from another collector of monkey
stuff. Christmas is
nearly upon us again and my search for Jane’s present was ended when I found
a 3 wise ______ set ( blanked out because she is watching me type the reply
to you) She will be
so Happy?, probably thinking of a spot to display them this very minute! Our kids
think we are crazy collecting the monkeys but little do they realise it will
be their only inheritance! Ha….revenge. Hope all is

Russia Emil I recently
traveled to St. Petersburg, to the oldest Russian museum Kunstkamera. There
are three figures in monkey poses in the exhibition dedicated to the Batak
people (North Sulawesi, Indonesia). As I understand it, is a late 20th
century. A sign reads
approx: Figures represent the idea of the necessity of detachment from
earthly temptations, that distract from the pious intentions |

I take the opportunity to send you a
post card I have received from "Alsaceé" which is an area of France
(East) very famous for its white wines. The fact that these young ladies are
a little bit undressed is a blink of an eye (???) to folk costumes of this
area which are usually quite austere, representing rather old women, dressed
in dark and without any smiles!!!! |

Hallo Emil, Da wir letztes Jahr aufgrund der
Katastrophe in Fukushima nicht nach Japan fahren konnten, haben wir dieses
Jahr wieder unser geliebtes Thailand bereist. Dazu sind wir von Bangkok aus
in mehreren Stationen bis in den Süden gefahren. Aufgrund eines Eintrages in
Deinen Newsletter im März, haben wir spontan entschlossen dieses Hotel
(Rest Detail) in Hua Hin aufzusuchen. Wir reisen sehr viel, und ich muß
sagen, dass es einer unserer besten Hotels überhaupt war. Vielen Dank noch
mal für den Tipp. Viele Grüße von Heike Translation: Hello Emil. Since last
year, because of the disaster in Fukushima, we could not travel to Japan; we have
this year visited again our beloved Thailand. From Bangkok we travelled in
several steps direction south. Because of your entry in the Newsletter of
March we decided spontaneously to visit the Rest
Hotel in Hua Hin. We do travel a lot and I must say that this was one of

Hi Emil. I
just want to let you know just how much I appreciate all your effort in
putting together the three monkey newsletter. I enjoy reading about all the
other collectors and seeing all the variations of the theme. Attached is a
photo of a piece I bought in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1993. I had just completed a 2
month self supported bicycle ride from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Hanoi,
Vietnam. Note: made up of five monkies, the 3 evils, plus the No Sex Monkey
