Hello. I'm a general
collector of monkeys and apes, which includes the three monkeys. I've been trying to
track down an old song I heard as a child on what I believe was a children's
record. It would likely have been produced some time during the 60s, maybe
50s or early 70s. I can't recall the title specifically nor who recorded it.
But I have been able to remember most of the lyrics and can hear the song in
my head. I know there's an abundance
of unknown or forgotten children's records so trying to track the actual
record would be nearly impossible. But I listened to it so many times that I
memorized the lyrics. I can't say if I remember them exactly but I'm fairly
certain that I'm accurate on most of them. I've already looked
through the list you have on the site and couldn't find anything even
similar. I don't expect you would recognize it but you seem to be the best
chance. Here are the lyrics: (The
? are where I'm uncertain about the line.) CHORUS: Three wise monkeys
sitting on the shelf, sitting and sitting all day. "Hear no evil,
see no evil, speak no evil," that's all they say. The first little
monkey takes his hands (?) and covers his ears so tight. If he doesn't hear
anything wrong he'll hear everything that's right. CHORUS The second little
monkey takes his hands (?) and covers his eyes so tight. If he doesn't see
anything wrong he'll see everything that's right. CHORUS The third little
monkey takes his hands (?) and covers his mouth so tight. If he doesn't say
anything wrong he'll say everything that's right. CHORUS The three little
monkeys hold their hands over their eyes,
mouth and ears so tight If we never do
anything wrong we'll do every thing that's right. CHORUS (?) |

Hallo, Voor de verzamelaars van horen, zien en
zwijgen heb ik een paar leuke setjes gemaakt. Het gaat om Boeddha's die op
een paneel of op een bal zitten. Het zijn leuke setjes geworden, mogelijk
