On April 1, 2012, this website celebrates its fifth anniversary. We would like to use this opportunity to thank the many collectors and other website visitors for all information and suggestions that have greatly helped to keep this website interesting and up-to-date. The three monkeys of Gandhi


The internet is full with stories about Mahatma Gandhi and the three monkey figurine he always carried with him. There are also photos of different statues that are all claimed to be copies of the original. Until recently we only could show a very unclear picture of the original Gandhi monkey set, but now we have received a much better photograph of it, recently taken in the Sabarmati Ashram (Gandhi Museum) in Ahmedabad India. According to the Chinese calendar, which is observed in a number of countries in the Far East, on January 23 is the start of the Year of the Dragon. Three Monkey “Beans”


Very special 3-monkey collectibles are the French fèves, “beans” that are specially produced for the Three Magi cake. Such cakes are only baked for Epiphany, which is celebrated on January 6. If you are not familiar with this custom, click here for an explanation. We were able to add more of these “beans” to our collection and if you are interested, click here. These items are very rare and as complete sets even more difficult to find.
