Sheila & Burt Handler, USA joined our Collector’s Gallery

Sheila and Burt participated in this year’s three-monkey collectors meeting in Carson City, which was their first one. Read the story about how they started collecting and how they are searching for no evils all over the world. NEW! Search this website

This website has become so comprehensive that it sometimes is quite difficult to find information about a specific subject. We have now added a search page based on Google, which hopefully will make it easier to find what you are looking for. At least it leads you to the page where the information can be found. If you want to check it out, click here.

Carnival (Mardi Gras) and the three monkeys

The “carnival season” in Germany always starts on November 11 at 11.11 am, although the real big festivities will only take place in the second half of February 2012.  This year, the “opening of the season” will be on a very special date and time: 11.11.11 at 11.11 o’clock. Maybe a reason to have a look how the three monkeys have inspired carnival freaks. More….

Collectors portrait : Joellen Decker from USA

Joellen Decker is a relative “newcomer” to our international group of three-monkey collectors, but she probably has the most colorful collection of all. The three-monkey collectors day 2011 in Deurne, Belgium

The 34 participants can look back to a nice collector’s meeting. Once more many thanks to Marie-Louise and Patrick who have spent much time with preparations during the past year. The guided tour in the Silver Museum, combined with a kind of 3-monkey quiz competition, was interesting and worthwhile. We were also lucky with the beautiful weather. The day was rounded off with a dinner in restaurant de Heksenketel (Witch Kettle) The pictures of Deurne 2011 are now ready on the internet and can be viewed by clicking here.

Massive internet problems

During the second half of September and the early days of October 2011, our internet service provider has experienced tremendous technical problems. Our website was temporarily down or very slow, the 3-monkeys store was not available and worst of all, emailing had come to a complete stop. This always presents a big problem, but it is especially annoying just before and during the European three-monkey collectors meeting in Deurne, Belgium. If you have tried to reach us during the past weeks and have not received a reply, please resend your message. If you don’t know already, we always answer all serious emails. Sorry for the inconvenience, this was completely beyond our control.

Three Monkey Collections for sale

During the past months we have frequently been approached by people who would like to sell their three-monkey collection. Usually, but not always, it concerns a collection from their parents. As a service to all who are interested in the 3 wise monkeys, we have now created a special info page within this website. This service is completely free for sellers and buyers, but it is obvious that we, as a free of charge advertising medium, cannot take any responsibility whatsoever.

For future reference there also is a link in the left column of this Newsletter under “Collecting the 3 monkeys” and then under “3-Monkey collections for sale”. Click here to visit.

What to do with my collection…………..later?

Rev. Paul Johnson in USA collected 3,479 different pencil sharpeners and when he died no one was sure where the collection would go. The good news is that it will now be displayed in a regional welcome centre in Logan, Ohio, USA.

If you have an almost-unique collection, you should start now to decide who would want to buy it, where you could sell it, or what non-profit organization would like it as a donation. This subject also was a topic during the recent Three-Monkeys Collectors meeting in Carson City, NV, USA.
