Story:

I found your web site and just wondered about the 4 wise monkeys I found in my back garden in 1978.They have been left in a draw since, they seem to have been a brass colour to start and now a silver colour has come through. There is also some blackening occurred in between the monkeys. There is no makers mark on them.

I am not sure whether to keep, clean or sell these!

I wanted to send you a picture just for more information.

Hello Joe,

thank you for the photos. It is most interesting that you found these in your garden. Also unusual is the probably silvercolour plating over brass. The monkey figurine itself is quite common, even though it represents 4 monkeys instead of the usual three. If you would offer this item for sale in Ebay, I guess that it would not go higher than £ 5-7. But one never knows with internet auctions.

There is not so much more I can say about it. Hopeful this information is useful to you.
