Story:

I have a three wise monkey wooden sculpture; they are sitting symmetrically back to back. The size is 2.75 inches tall, 3 inch diameter. There is a signature/ inscription underneath.

I would like to know more about it, I would be very interested to find out more about it. Great website!

Valuation:

Hello John, There is not so much I can say about this figurine. The monkeys in question are macaques living both in China and Japan. The difference is the tail. Japanese monkeys have a quite short tail. The figurine does not show a tail. The signature, not readable, is written in Chinese characters which is in common use both in China and in Japan. The posture of sitting back to back is quite rare for Japanese statues (it is more popular in China) but it does exist. Sorry that I cannot give you a clearer answer, but I hope that my remarks are still useful.
