Story:

This is a piece of advertizing art I collect. It looks like Fred Flintstone, but there is no mention of Hanna-Barbara or The Flintstones or anything else on it. The only markings are on the base - "Powell Valves" in raised lettering in the front and

It is blue silicon rubber with a white silicon rubber valve in front. The hair is painted red and part of the valve, black. 2" tall, 4" wide and 2" deep. I am interested in its cost. It is a see all, hear all, say all type.

Valuation:

You have done an excellent job with the description of this item. There is not much that can be added. Here is a picture from my collection. This figurine is occasionally offered in internet auctions and usually is sold for US$ 30 - 50. But if you are the seller and two collectors are fighting over it, you might be lucky and get more.

Thank you for your compliment. Thank-you also for the information regarding value. It surprises me that anything that simple as a give away at a commercial engineering products show dated as late as 1979 is worth anything at all. I still have to wonder if Hanna-Barbara’s lawyers looked at copyright infringement. Fred did endorse Winston cigarettes in the very late 50's/early sixties.
