Many years ago, I saw three monkey figurines from Istanbul that were the three monkeys but with hands cupped to increase hearing, seeing, speaking instead of preventing those.

Have you seen such figurines anywhere?

My name is Mihaela Gheorghita and I am writing to ask for a favour.

I am a Romanian writer and my first novel has just been published. I am currently working on a website to promote the book. The motto and a very important symbol for my novel is The Four Monkeys: see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, do no evil. I would very much like to include on the website a small image of the four monkeys, ideally a drawing or a clipart.

I was wondering if you could possibly help me with one - you mention on your website that you also have drawings of the wise monkeys. Please note that I would need the four monkeys, not only the classical three.

oder weicht das zu sehr von dem Sinnbild ab??

Somehow, these little guys always remind me of my childhood...so they are special to me. I only have four in my collection, but these four have a way of speaking to my senses. I am always on the hunt for finding others that do the same.

Hallo Emil,

Wij waren bijzonder verrast toen wij van jou uit Zwitserland bericht kregen dat een HZZ verzamelaar jou verteld had over de vele soorten HZZ die wij in onze winkel in Arnhem verkopen. Ik was me niet bewust van het feit dat er zo veel mensen zijn die deze beeldjes verzamelen. In onze winkel hebben wij daar nooit iets van gemerkt. Had een van onze klanten dat maar eerder verteld. Ik heb jou nu een stuk of 20 foto's gestuurd van de HZZ beeldjes die wij op dit moment op voorraad hebben en binnenkort krijgen wij er nog een mooi setje van een paar monniken uit China bij.

Wij hebben nu besloten om een extra pagina op onze website helemaal te wijden aan de HZZ. Het opzetten van deze pagina kan nog een paar weken in beslag nemen omdat ik dit gedeeltelijk uit moet besteden. Wij zullen jouw website daarin als link vermelden.

Agréablement surpris par votre carte de sympathie suite à ma maladie. Je remercie toutes les personnes qui ont participés à cette réunion à Deurne en Belgique. C’est très gentil d’avoir une pensée pour nous. Soyez sans crainte, tous va bien. Je fais 6 à 8 Kms de marche tous les jours. Et je pense que maintenant je peux faire plus de grand parcourt en voiture.

I purchase them in Hanoi at the end of a two month independent self supported bicycle tour from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to Hanoi, Vietnam.
