Story:

I found an object in my mother's belongings after her passing. It is the three wise monkeys. It may be brass. It is 1 3/4 high, 2 inches lengthwise. On the bottom it states: "Die Weisheit - nicht horen - nicht sehen - nicht sprechen". I have taken several pictures if you would like to see them. I am looking for an evaluation. Thank you.

Valuation:

You may already have understood from the language on the sticker that these monkeys originate from Germany. They probably were bought during a trip to Europe. The translation in English is: “The wisdom - don’t hear - don’t see - don’t speak”. These figurines were manufactured after WWII as a souvenir item and have been sold in large quantities. The monkeys and the label seem to be in very good condition. Whereas in Europe you would hardly get more than maybe 5-8 US Dollar for them, if auctioned in Ebay USA, especially with an explanation of the item and the text on the label, you may get more. It all depends whether several bidders are interested.
