Smashing the Rose Tinted
See no evil
Hear no evil
Speak no evil
So I observed
As you spoke
And I listened
To your words of upheaval
Your forked snake tongue
Wove words that stung
Your cold surgical eyes
Ensured love had died
My battered heart is dispersed
To a solid empty earth
Of rejection, indifference, injustice
Violently smashing the delicate
Rose tinted glasses
The cupids arrow snaps and bleeds
With each word a cruel deed
It drains all that remains
As the bluebird of happiness
Flies by swiftly
Abandoning aching loneliness
