Here are photographs of Koshin religious ceremonies in private homes in Japan, at different occasions.

Neighbours, friends and relatives come together in the house of the family that is in charge for that night.

All sit in front of a makeshift altar and hanging scrolls with Shoumen Kongou on the walls. All persons will try to stay awake during the entire night to prevent the Sanshi to leave their body.

On the altar are a bowl of rice, soup, seasonal fruit, and flowers. Furthermore candles and incense sticks.

The above pictures are about 60 years old.

Hier zijn foto’s van twee verschillende religieuze Koshin bijeenkomsten in Japan bij mensen thuis. Buren, vrienden en familieleden zijn bij elkaar gekomen in het huis van de familie die deze keer de Koshin nacht organiseert. Men zit voor een geimproviseerd altaar en aan de wand hangen religieuze papierrollen (scrolls) met Shuomen Kongou. Alle gelovigen zullen proberen om de hele nacht wakker te blijven om te voorkomen dat de Sanshi uit hun lichaam ontsnappen.

Op het altaar staat een schaal met rijst, soep, fruit en bloemen. Verder nog kaarsen en reukstaafjes.

Bovenstaande foto’s zijn ongeveer 60 jaar oud.

Hier sind Bilder zweier Koshin religiösen Feiern in Japan auf privater Basis.

Nachbarn, Freunde und Familienmitglieder sind zusammengekommen in der Wohnung der Familie der diesmal die Feier organisiert. Man sitzt vor einem improvisierten Altar und an der Wand hängen Rollbilder mit Abbildung von Shoumen Kongou. Alle Anwesenden werden versuchen die ganze Nacht wach zu bleiben, damit die Sanshi nicht entweichen können. Auf dem Altar stehen einen Schüssel mit Reis, Suppe, Obst und Blumen. Weiter noch Kerzen und Räucherstäbchen.

Die Bilder sind vor etwa 60 Jahr aufgenommen.

.Voici des photos des cérémonies religieuses Koshin chez des particuliers. Voisins, amis et famille se réunissent ensemble dans la demeure de la famille organisatrice de cette nuit. Ils s’asseyent tous en face d’un autel de fortune et accrochent des rouleaux représentant Shoumen Kongou, sur les murs. Toutes les personnes doivent essayer de rester éveillées pendant toute la nuit pour éviter que Sanshi quitte leur corps. Sur l’autel, sont disposés, un bol de riz, de soupe, des fruits de saison et des fleurs. Il y a également des bougies et des bâtons d’encens. Les photos ci-dessus datent d’environ 60 ans.
